Hiking in Washington

Got out this afternoon on a beautiful day for a 7 mile hike in South West Washington. It was a lovely quiet hike along a creek, completely unspoilt with fantastic clear green water and the sunlight filtering through the trees. Would be amazing in the summer when you can leap off the bridges into the cool clean water. I managed to take quite a few photos but as ever with forest hikes there really isn't a great deal of light and without a tripod many of them came out less than ideal. I will get the best of them uploaded to flickr over the coming days. This would be a whole hell of a lot easier if there was a plugin for aperture that let me send directly to flickr. This and all the other performance issues are making me think of switching back to iPhoto. Its fantastic here that you can get out of the city and in an hour be in beautiful wilderness with only the occasional person on the trail. Certainly cleared out the system after several days of fairly hard evenings including a ridiculously late St Patrick Day party. There is certainly something great about the fatigue you feel after a long days hike in the outdoors, a kind of fresh tiredness that is worlds away from the nervous exhaustion of a hard day at work. Its been a hectic weekend and I will add more about it as I recover from the events I should be writing about.
