Romantic Love "lasts a year'

BBC News is reporting that scientists in Italy have discovered that the levels of a brain chemical associated with feelings of euphoria and dependence experienced at the start of a relationship last only a year. I don't suppose that this is particularly counter intuitive, I believe that love becomes a conscious choice after a period of time. This is not to say that it is cold and calculated, far from it, anything in which you are required to make a choice ultimately is stronger than just acceptance of the feeling . So that love becomes both a visceral connection and an intellectual choice. A powerful combination. The BBC article is here
